Conversation in Isolation - Meet the Team

Editor: Seraphina Choong

With the exciting news of slight easing of restrictions in Victoria underway, we are proud to have another member on the team, Anna, with us today to share with us how she has been involved in this team!

  • “Hi, what is your name and what year level are you in?”
Hi! I'm Anna and I'm a 4th year medical student.

  • “How would you describe yourself in 3 words?”
If I had to pick 3 words I'd have to say I'm passionate, excitable and clumsy.

  •  “Awesome! Can you tell us why you have chosen to sign up and help out with ‘Conversation in Isolation’?”
When we first got pulled off placement in march I was feeling overwhelmed by the global situation and was desperate to channel my anxiety into some kind of productivity. This felt like a good place to be able to help, so I signed up!

  •  It's amazing to see and hear about the progress everyone has made since March! On a side note, do you speak any languages other than English at home?”
I only really speak English but I can manage a conversation in Hebrew and struggle my way through one in french- luckily neither of them are in high demand in the community.

  •  “Wow you are a talented trilingual! What is some advice you would like to give to aspiring volunteers who would like to help in this project?”

My advice would be, to do it! Unlike volunteer programs that require you to travel somewhere and dedicate a large amount of time, all you nerd for this is a phone and a desire to help.

  • “These are all very good tips, thanks for sharing! Maybe one last fun/quick question before we end off: If you could only eat one single dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?”

That's such a hard question because I love cooking and eating new and exciting foods particularly when I travel. I want to say pasta but that feels very basic.
